Hello, I'm Harper!

I'm a lifelong Seattlite who recently moved back home after completing my teacher training at the University of Michigan where I did my student teaching at Ann Arbor's STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts and Math) Academy. I've been working in schools in a variety of roles since 2011 when I did an Americorps program called City Year in Los Angeles. As a teacher, I'm committed to addressing barriers to student success, and building curriculum around the needs and passions of my students.

In my free time I love to be in the outdoors, especially the mountains- it's one of the reasons my wife and I came back to Seattle- and I'm hoping to learn some mountaineer skills this year! Beyond that, I'm an avid reader who bounces forth between a ton of different genre's, which is a pastime I really enjoy sharing with students.
