The primary focus of Explorer's Club is to support students individual online learning programs while creating a learning community where children explore and create in a positive environment.
Explorer's Club is an amazing opportunity to build a unique learning community. Explorer's Club focuses on celebrating the whole child. We make time for building relationships, practicing mindfulness, exploring our environment and celebrating our individuality. We will focus on learning as a process. There will be opportunities to build, create and express ourselves using a variety of mediums.
I am an educator with 9 years of experience as a classroom teacher and over 20 years of experience working with children. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Nebraska and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College. I have taught in both public and private schools.
My husband, Mark, and I have two children. Liam is 13 and Brinley is 9. We love to go camping and explore all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. We have been here for 6 years and we feel like we have barely scratched the surface of the beauty and wonder that is here.
When I am not camping, you can find me either hiking or reading. I started a hiking group and a book club several years ago and they are still going strong. These communities we're designed to encourage and support mom's while we 'do life' together.
My greatest joy is to work with children. I love to help them have a positive learning experience. It is such a priveledge to witness that 'ah ha' moment as they make new connections.
I am so excited for this unique opportunity to help children grow and thrive in a positive learning community!
