A very caring, fun environment with dual language focus (English and Spanish). Each child has personalized support to play and learn as they develop "pre-skills" that set the groundwork for preschool. There is currently one opening. The program has a very small 3:1 child/teacher ratio.
We love outdoor play! Get ready for a completely personalized program for your child with plenty of outdoor learning and adventures in Schmitz Park and the Alki playfield. This program features dual language learning: English and Spanish.
At The Alki Cottage School, we're focused on a safe environment (following all CDC guidelines) and personalized learning so each child is supported in the way they learn best. Our classes are all in small groups to ensure safety and a lot of 1:1 learning time supported by the educator. Children will be focused on social and emotional growth, fostering their creativity as well as exploring the early "pre-skills" that will eventually help with writing, math, science and art.
Our core values support engaging children as they prepare for success in school and life.
Research shows that a whole-child approach to education—one where children develop not only math and literacy skills but also social–emotional, physical, and cognitive skills—is developmentally appropriate and better prepares children for life well beyond their time in a classroom.

This is a wonderfully caring environment for our child and we've worked with this educator for four years. This is our second child to go through her program and our other child is a confident, happy toddler who speaks both English and Spanish fluently and has a love of the outdoors that was fostered by being part of this program.
