With my Bachelor of Education in Curriculum Development, I began my international teaching career as a kindergarten and first grade teacher for 12 years. Upon moving to Washington in 2015, I joined Bellevue Children’s Academy as a kindergarten teacher for two years then moved into the position of Head of Campus for the past three years.
After leading a successful school reopening for in person and remote learning programs at Bellevue Children’s Academy, I would like to dedicate my time to support individual families during these challenging times.
I specialize in creating and tailoring the curriculum to intentionally meet each child’s needs and instill a love of learning. I believe in empowering each student to pursue their interests, develop their own learning style, build confidence and independence and achieve success in all areas of their development.
I have a lovely daughter who is a freshman at UW. A new addition to the family is our friendly, playful puppy who will bring extra joy to your children should they choose to play with her during recess.
I value parent partnerships as we embark on your child's exciting learning journey together!
Mrs. Misic is an exceptional individual. She is not only a highly skilled educator, but her approach and care to each individual child’s learning needs is unmatched. My daughter was in her Kindergarten class. When she entered Mrs. Misic’s class, my daughter was excruciatingly shy and required a lot of individual attention. Mrs. Misic was aware of this at once and supported her in every way possible. Each time I contacted Mrs. Misic to ask a question or raise a concern, she responded to me immediately and found extraordinarily creative opportunities to address those concerns. She never made my daughter to feel singled out. By the end of the school year, Mrs. Misic had nurtured my child’s confidence and transformed her into a blossoming learner. I fondly refer to Mrs. Misic as the magical fairy who completely changed my daughter’s life. Today, my daughter is a bubbly student who pushes herself to excel and loves to learn. Mrs. Misic is directly responsible for establishing this rich foundation and fostering my daughter’s love for learning. For this, our family is incredibly grateful to have had Mrs. Misic in our lives.
Mrs. Misic’s Discovery Academy is located in our home which is nestled among trees in Lake Forest Park. Our half-acre property includes a large fully enclosed back yard, an open living room/dining room/kitchen concept with large windows facing the front yard and a cozy “Discovery Den” on the lower level where learning will take place. In our Discovery Den, each child will have their own learning space furnished with their personal desk, chair, reading cushion, curriculum materials, math kit and school supplies. These are all included in your monthly fee.
