Learning should be fun, engaging, and active. I am here to support you and your pod through this process, and ensure that Fall 2020 is a fabulous term!
I am looking for a pod of 4-6 kids to teach their micro-school.
I will support the online curriculum and implement personal hands-on projects to enhance and extend students' learning! In addition, I will carve out time for outside activities, music, arts & crafts, and other hobbies your child may enjoy. Students will be immersed in an experience that both grows them academically and supports their social-emotional growth. Program will last until late January.
Hi everyone! My name is Courtnei, and I absolutely love working with children in education!
I received my B.A. in Psychology with an English minor from Gonzaga University in 2017, and I am currently obtaining my M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) with an elementary education certification from Seattle Pacific University.
I have extensive experience working with children across a variety of settings spanning 10 years. I've been a gymnastics coach, a camp counselor, a tutor, a mentor, an English teacher, a continuing education coordinator, a behavior technician, and most recently, an instructional assistant.
As an instructional assistant, I assisted with one-on-one, small group, and classroom instruction to guide students to their full learning potential. When school was not in session, I created supplemental curriculum throughout the year for camps. From building solar-panel ovens for s'mores to planting our own seeds in a garden, and from designing the best egg drop contraption to making our own slime, fun and engaging activities were prevalent.
I have worked with children in both general education and special education across the age range of 2 - 14. I also have my Emergency Teaching Certification from the Mercer Island School District.
I would love to meet your family and partner with you to create a wonderful educational environment for Fall 2020!
