Let's get outside for outdoor learning this summer! This is a summer camp focused on adventures in West Seattle's Schmitz Park and Alki Playfield.
This is a weekly outdoor focused early childhood education program for the summer. All of our programs are small group learning so we can personalize activities and learning around each child within the group.
Preference will be given to students who want to enroll for the entire summer.
The "home base" is a schoolhouse cottage two buildings away from Alki Elementary but the learning happens outside this summer. Students will spend time away from screens, learning in Schmitz Park. Through structured and unstructured learning and play outdoors, the focus will be building an appreciation for nature. Activities will include planting a garden, exploring the nature in Schmitz Park, exploring tide pools at low tide.
We take safety seriously: masks required for all campers and staff, daily health screening and temperature checks and of course, small micro-class groups each week.
2021 CAMP SESSIONS Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm Each week will focus on specific themes from gardening to exploring Schmitz Park to learning about the tide pools on Alki Beach during low tide.
