Program Description

True To You Preschool provides a warm, loving and fun environment where children are free to express themselves through play and self discovery. This is encouraged through art, music, dramatic play, literacy, math and nature.

There is also a big emphasis on Social Emotional Learning. Beginning early in life social and emotional learning is highly important for helping preschool children to understand and manage their emotions, feel and show empathy for others and to establish friendships and connection with others. I strive to build a true connection with the child and their family! Part of how I do this is by starting the child's learning journey at age 3 and continuing with them until they enter grade school. I feel this consistency is important for the childs emotional and educational growth!

Here at True To You Preschool we strive to teach authenticity by: 1)making the child feel important. When they feel valued they will be more confident in expressing their true self. 2)Value the child's differences. What makes us different is what makes us unique! 3) Encourage imagination and self-expression. This nutures the child's natural love of learning!

Background Check Confirmed

I'm glad you are interested in learning more about my Preschool. In Kindergarten when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I said " A princess and a teacher!" That is where my love of teaching first began. In my teenage years I babysat a lot and also volunteered watching at risk kids. Later in life I worked with children with special needs in the home and in the classroom for over five years. I then took a break to raise a family of my own, two boys ages four and eight. I have a passion with working with kids and having a positive impact on their lives. I thought it would be fun to share an interview that I had with my boys so you can learn a little more about me. The first answer is from my four year old and the second answer is from my eight year old.

I live in a house in Alki which is walking distance to Schmitz Park and Alki Beach. At least once a month we will take a field trip there! Downstairs there are two rooms dedicated to the preschool, as well as a bathroom and a private entrance. I have a large backyard with a swingset, sensory table, playtent and fun outdoor toys! I have made the preschool an inclusive and inviting space for the kids to have fun and enjoy learning !
